Bor County’s young girls, who are unable to attend school because they are responsible for walking miles each day to fetch their family’s supply of water, could honor their duties – and get an education – if wells were near their schools.
A nonprofit organization founded by the "Lost Boys" of Sudan
now living in the United States invites you to join them in . . .
• Restoring Hope
• Revitalizing the Future
• for Children of Southern Sudan
Many children in war-torn Southern Sudan yearn for an education, but
opportunities are extraordinarily limited. You can help secure their future by
supporting the Coalition of the Willing, a national organization formed by "Lost
Boys" of Sudan now living in America, who are working with Sudanese village
leaders to build schools and water wells. After 20 years of war, the need is
profound – and urgent.
Our challenge
• More than 20,000 children in Bor County need – and want – an
education. The literacy rate is about 5 percent. Our project would
serve 1,000 children, with 200 students at each of the five schools.
• More than 300,000 families live with an unsafe water supply.
• Bor County’s young girls, who are unable to attend school because
they are responsible for walking miles each day to fetch their family’s
supply of water, could honor their duties – and get an education – if
wells were near their schools.
How you can help
